    What got in the cylinder

    My 1981 90hp evinrude evidently had something get in the cylinder and smashed it but nothing is in there now and I dont have compression on that cylinder now. And theres not a hole in the piston.     timing

    I replaced my timer base and now have spark on all coils. But still dont have full power to get up on plane. Is it the timing now? And can someone tell me how to set the timing? My motor is a 1981 90hp evinride. Thanks Guys

    plug wires sparking to engine block

    I just replace a bad timer base,plug wires and plugs and tested boat last night in the dark with the cowl off. I had spark jumping to the engine from the new wires.
