I'm wondering what type of material a distributor cap was made of in the 70's? It's off of a 72 thunderbolt 500. I'm taking a chance in gluing mine, and knowing the material allows me to buy the right glue for it.

I bought a mercury thunderbolt and the middle wire of the distributor cap was knocked out (meaning it cracked all the way around and popped off.)
Can this be fixed with jbweld or do I need to buy a new one?

Has anyone heard of the shrink wrap that looks like a paint job? And if anyone had it done last year or prior, how is it holding up? Any peeling off or is it as good as new. And what if you happen to scrape the dock with it, does it leave any marks as in rips?

If I shift the shift shaft, it goes in all gears if I rotate the shaft counter clockwise looking at it from the top, is this the right rotation? The manuals I have are sometimes pretty vague and it's easy to get mislead.
