    how do you ID an engine???????

    I have a 85 HP Force engine sitting on a 1989 VIP 16' runabout. Trying to figure out how to ID it???? I cant even find a set of numbers that I think would be a serial number, there seem to be numbers stamped everywhere on it... Any ideas?????/ p://[/IMG] [/IMG]

    I have a new to me 89 VIP with a 85 hp Force motor. I put a volt meter on the battery with the engine running, and its only showing 12.5 volts (same as with the engine off).
