This battery is from my tow vehicle, 1995 GMC van diesel with dual batteries. I had a loose connection on the upper battery positive terminal. Pictured below. I was thinking of using a dremel tool to clean it up. Is there a better way and or a safer way to do it. I have a respirator.

Re: Adhesive removal
I think Goof Off is what your looking for. It worked great for me. I scraped of the heavy stuff and then used Goof Off to get the adhesive removed. Lowes and HD sell it.
Re: 1987 Searay sundance major hull repair advice needed.
Perhaps you might consider several cans of Flex-Seal for your project. It seems to have worked well for the row boat repair pictured above.
I'm restoring a 1988 Chaparral SX 1900.. I also have a 1985 Celebrity 180 as a donor boat. The Chap already has an alpha one drive on it. It has OMC steering and shifter. I want to make the Chap all Mercruiser. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Lowes & Home Depot are out of Arauco plywood. http://www.woodworkingnetwork.com/news/woodworking-industry-news/Forest-Fire-Destroys-Arauco-Plywood-Plant-136658383.html Any suggestions or experience with other plywood products?
I just pulled the OMC engine mount-power steering plate and found this poor attempt by a PO (I would certainly think this is not a factory cut out) to make a drive hole in the transom. It is an Alpha One drive. I was planning on using Frisco's method of drawing a cut out pattern for my...
I'm replacing deck, stringers, and transom in 1988 Chaparral SX 1900. It currently has a alpha one outdrive connected to a 5.7 OMC. I also have a 1985 celebrity 5.7 (cracked block) with alpha one. It's my donor boat. Is it going to be worth it to replace the the OMC parts with all Merc parts...
I'm removing my Engine Today hopefully. It's a 5.7 OMC attached to a Mercuiser Alpha One. My biggest concern are lift points. I don't want to use a carb plate on my aluminum intake. Suggestions? Please.

I'm taking on a project that is probably over my head. Second Project Boat: It's a 1988 Chaparral SX 1900 Bowrider. I will be posting pix (and video also ). I have gone through some of the more "expert" threads on this site (FriscoBoater, WoodonGlass, Oops, Archbuilder...)... So, I know who...
I'm Rebuilding a 19' bowrider made by a manufacturer with a reputation of producing top tier quality boats. I'm sawing out the old deck and I'm in disbelief that the holes drilled to pour foam are all open. Just carpet over them to keep water out. Is this industry standard? It's no wonder why I...
Re: No reverse, Shift problem ?
I pulled the drive off to inspect shift cable and found no gasket. Previous owner used silicone instead. Also I found this 1/4" gash in the bellhousing. I'm guessing thats why they used silicone. I'm thinking of using marinetex to cover the gash. Also I'm...
