I think I have all the channels clear. the hole inside the throat is open to the cavity around the main jet, I figure as its in the throat air must be pushed in when the motor is running helping to push fuel up the main jet and into the throat, and when the choke is closed it sucks...

I have managed to unscrew the main jet after cutting off the idle jet, i'll need a press to push the remnants of the idle tube out the top of the carb body and hopefully reuse the welch cup. I have found tube 2.35mm (or 0.092inches) in diameter from a hobby store is the original...
