My 88spl engine block goes into the machine shop this week. I know one hole will need to be bored and the other three should only need honing. What overbore pistons are available? I've found .020", .030", and .040" so far. Is .040" as big as you can go on these engines?

I have a '85 1.6 Sea Drive (115hp) and a '88 88spl that I am trying to build into one usable powerplant for my boat. The carbs from the SD are kinda crusty and definately need a rebuild but the carbs from the 88spl are in very good shape. Is there a horsepower difference (or any other benefit)...
I'm trying to track down a replacement powerhead for my '85 Sea Drive. I found a 1978 140hp V4 for a good price but I don't know if it would work with my Sea Drive midsection or lower unit. Are the spline counts all the same on the crank? Would this powerhead be a crossflow or looper?
