    I have a 95 9.9 force motor that lost reverse. I don't think this is a common problem. no one has been able to offer any good sugestions on how to fix this forward gear. (factor defect).I don't want to buy a new gear for this motor!!!

    force 9.9 forward gear

    I have a 95 force 9.9 with very low hours. Last time I used it, it lost it's forward direction. It looks like it is slipping where the clutch dog is pressed into the gear. My question is, can the gear be fixed, and is this a common problem with this motor?
