    1983 Force 50hp 2-stroke - ignition coil troubleshooting

    I think I have a bad coil. How do I meter it out? What readings should I be seeing? Also, the replacement coils are really expensive. Can I use a newer coil (less $$); will it have the same electrical properties just in a different form factor?
