Hi, I am about to install my riser gasket and I am getting conflicting information on whether to use a thin layer of high temp gasket cement on the gasket around the water ports. Everyone agrees not to use any on the gasket cement around the exhaust.
should i add any around the water ports of...
I am in the process of replacing my exhaust manifolds and elbows on my mercruiser 4.3
The engine has a dry joint system that was originally raw water cooled. A long time ago I converted it to a closed cooling system for the engine block. manifolds and elbows are still raw water cooled.
so after...
hi, I just did a cold compression test on my 4.3 mercruiser. I couldn’t warm the engine up because my manifolds are currently off. The motor is a 2010 with 560 hours on it.
here are my numbers
1 = 145
3 = 150
5 = 178
2 = 183
4 = 175
6 = 180
seems to idle fine
I just purchased new exhaust manifolds and risers for my 2010 Bayliner 192 with a 4.3L Mercruiser.
The manifolds are painted where the exhaust gasket goes and some of the paint has chipped off. Do I need to chip off the rest of the paint?
I have a 2010 Bayliner 192 with a 4.3L Mercruiser and a Alpha 1 gen 2 leg. The other day when I was on the water, I couldn't get up on plane. The fastest I could go was 16mph revving at 2800 rpm. When I push the throttle down, the engine revs to 5000 rpm but the boat doesn't go any faster.
So I...
Hi, I have a 2010 4.3l tks mercruiser engine and I’ve never been able to suck much oil out and was wondering if this was normal. I’ve have a tube attached to the oil pan that I can pull out through the transom drain. I attach a pump to it to extract the oil. I’ve also tried extracting the oil...
I just tested the compression on my 4.3 mercruiser tks (closed cooling) and this is what I got:
back
180 175
180 160
180 180
front
Temperature right near the water temp sending unit is 161 degrees
left riser temp is 92.6 degrees
right riser...
I have a 4.3 mercruiser TKS. I just put in a new thermostat because the old one was sticking a bit. The temperature is about 175-180(just a little past 175) when warmed up and cruising. When I go from cruising to idle I notice that the temperature rises a little bit and I get a few beeps from...
I have a 2010 bayliner with a 4.3l mercruiser. A couple weeks ago while I cruising along at about 3400 rpm, my boat overheated. It turns out the engine block has a blue plastic wing nut drain plug and the top broke off draining my engine block. I fixed it and fast forward to yesterday it...
