    1976 Johnson 115 electric help

It's better than nothing. I was hoping for one that would say what each wire is for. IE (this may be wrong) Purple=12V switched; Red=12V constant.

    1976 Johnson 115 electric help

I am trying to do a restore, so I want to keep the boat and engine I have. When I have the hull fixed (replacing floor and now the transom too), I will put the engine back on and finish the job. Hopefully it is just the starter and main power wires at this point. I already rebuild the lower unit...

    1976 Johnson 115 electric help

I will probably just get a new starter. I opened it up and the brushes are worn, and the insulation on the coil looks questionable. I'm sure I could fix it if all the parts for it were available (they are not anymore), but I don't know what the problem is exactly and I don't want to throw money...

    1976 Johnson 115 electric help

I am looking for a bit of info for a 76 Johnson 115 outboard. I have posted about this before, but that was a while back and slightly different questions. At that point it was not running, but now it does run. My questions are as follows. 1. What battery do I need for this engine and is my...

Questions about redoing floor on '76 'Twain 162

The stringers are going to be replaced. Up near the front of the boat, they pretty much fell apart. The transom seems good to me, but maybe I should drill a few test holes to make sure. Any ideas on if the foam is needed?

Questions about redoing floor on '76 'Twain 162

I have a few questions about redoing the floor on a 1976 Mark Twain 162T-BR. I may be wrong on the model, but I know it is a '76 162 with a 115 outboard. I started working on this boat, and I am a bit stuck on the best way to remove the floor from it. The foam under the floor swelled, and...

    1976 Johnson 115 Rebuild/Upgrade Help

The reason it sat so long is not because the engine was bad, but because it stated getting worked on in the 90s (roughly) and then it had to be left behind because of an out of state job (not in AZ). That job lasted, I don't know, 20 years, and until recently the boat has been in a different...

    1976 Johnson 115 Rebuild/Upgrade Help

Thank you for the information. I was hoping there might be an upgraded carburetor or something like that for more power, but maybe not.

    1976 Johnson 115 Rebuild/Upgrade Help

I am looking for some help/advice on rebuilding/upgrading a 1976 Johnson 115. I will break this up into sections for better understanding. I also do not know a lot about boats, so sorry if anything is stated wrong. 1. What I know/don't know. I do not know what model the engine is or where to...
