    is prop size correct

    I have a 17.5 aluminum sea nymph runabout with a 85 hp johnson 17p prop 2 people 32 mph gps and 5000 rpm. I do not have power tilt & trim. Would i go faster if I had tilt & trim? Or is this about as fast as I'm gonna go. This is the only boat I have ever owned.

    prop size aluminum runabout

    i have 17.5 sea nymph aluminum runabout with a 1978 85hp johnson manual trim i have a aluminum17 pitch prop now and have a 19 pitch ss that needs repaired. The prop shop said i can stay with 19 or they can make it a 17. I plane up good and engine runs excellent .but my top speed is 30-32 mph...

    I replaced a power pack on my 1978 85hp johnson. Should I have replaced both power packs. Boat runs great no issues since I replaced the pack.

    worth keeping

    I have a 1976 17.5 foot sea nymph closed bow aluminum runabout with an 85hp johnson (manual tilt).Runs good new floor and transom.I have only had the boat a year. I see a lot of boats for sale cheap(less than 5000).Keep mine and do some upgrades or buy another boat.

    choke to primer conversion 1978 85hp

    Has anyone ever converted their old choke system to the primer solenoid system if so did you have to change carbs and how did you do the hose routing.I have checked everything on my system and I have run out of options. Taking the motor cover off and shooting a shot of gas on a cold start is a pain.

    1976 johnson 85hp hard to start

    i have a johnson 85hp that is hard to start cold. The choke works and the primer bulb is firm. It cranks an cranks with timing advanced and choke activated.If you squirt some fuel in carbs fires right up and starts fine thereafter. I just bought boat and want to fix before I take it out.
