    Eastern Washington, so the closest would probably be Seattle or Portland so looking at a one or 2 day trip. Not sure about buying something like that sight unseen. My boat guy and i have called around trying to find a casing with no luck. Thanks for the response.

    Thanks, I have seen them but it seems like they are selling gears and everything. All I need is the housing. I don't think the items I have found that are about $3200 and weigh over 300lbs. are just the lower gear housing. Shouldn't say I don't think but more like hard to believe.

    New here folks and appreciate any help. I have a 2000 Cobalt with a Volvo SX-M outdrive. Well, cracked the lower gear housing and it's not weldable. The guy I took it to is looking for a housing with a certain number 3817737. Not sure if that is a casting number or what but haven't had any...
