I went through the Top Secret Files and couldn't find an answer on this one. Noticed that the change from bushing to needle bearing occurred in '65 but does that apply to the 9.5 HP motor?
So which mix is right for this engine, 24:1 or 50:1?

I identified my outboard as a '46 to '50 HD25, now what should I do before trying to start it up? I have no idea how long it has be sitting.

I picked up an old Johnson outboard at an auction. I'm guessing it is from the '50s or '60s model. It's a small motor, probably less than 5 HP. Where should I look for the model number and serial number? Thanks.
