I have read articles on this site on disconnecting the VRO pumps on Johnson/Evinrude outboards....I was wondering if I could do the same on a 1990 Merc. Black Max, If I run a 50 to 1 premix?....Could I just plug the hose from the reserve oil tank to the VRO pump and disable the warning horn wire?
I have a 1990 175 HP Mercury Black Max and my oil alarm keeps going beep beep beep all the time and I can't solve why it's doing it....I have read the manual and tried some things but to no avail...It appears that low oil in the supply tank to the motor is the only thing that makes the beeper...
