Hi
1976 OMC electric stringer witha 190hp OMC ford 302 engine
I am replacing the thermostat and the replacement I purchased appears different than the one I have just removed.
This boat was seriously got-at by the previous owners so I have zero confidence that whats in there right now is...
Looks like that electric choke is original as well
For posterity (and search engines) the single terminal electric choke on an 1975 190hp 302 engine block is a 986789 Choke OMC oem
Now all I have to do is figure out why something so simple doesn't work as it doesn't appear to be obviously...
Not sure which forum to put this in but came across this test and thought it might be of use.

Devcon
JB Weld
Gorilla Epoxy
Loctite instant
Loctite metal/concrete
Quick steel
Not a scientific test by any means and no comment on heat, oil or water...
To answer my own question about the prop, no splines.
Markings on the prop are 10449.2 and under that 2.2
bit baffled now :)
Apparently this is called a pin drive and I'm guessing not going to be found locally and probably expensive :(
Hi
Just bought a 1975 Glastron Vagabond with a OMC 190HP Ford 302 Stringer Sterndrive with select trim.
Just getting ready to do a tune up having spent last week draining 3 year old fuel, new filters cleaning the carb etc.
In the water I'm getting
Overheating at full throttle
Poor charging...
With no integrated steps how exactly is a "not so nimble anymore" person supposed to clamber up onto the console and throught the walk through windcscreen?
And much more importantly, how is this not so nimble but generously proportioned person supposed to get back down without jumping down onto...
