next weekend the Wabash river will be 11' over flood stage. Running the back water is the high light of my year. So much to see and taking the boat where you never get to go is amazing! I cant wait. Anyone else love this time of year on their river?

I bought a 1996 Johnson 50 controls and all. I hooked the tach up all system check lights come on then go off. All that checks out. I have two extra wires not attached to anything on the harness now. Are these for a voltmeter and trim gauge?

Has reverse no forward. Unhooked shift cable and tried engaging that way, no good. Adjustments dont help it will not fully engage into forward. Could this be the cable or dog in the lower unit? is there an adjustment in the lower unit? I think im screwed here any help is appreciated
In my original post I was told my OMC was obsolete. Is my 3.0 liter Cobra that bad because of age or is it from a lack of replacement parts? Am I to expect trouble out of this powerplant? Your info is appreciated. Ive always been a OMC owner with outboards and never had problems.
I just bought a bayliner capri 19' I/O 3.0 liter omc cobra. Everything works everything is sound. $1000 brought it home, anyone think thats a fair price or did i get the short end on this one?
