I’m gonna be honest, I changed the water pump and removed the factory tell tale and replaced with a vinyl tube rated to 160 degrees so it wouldn’t melt. It still vents out the exhaust but I haven’t noticed a reduction in power or any significant problems. I run on a big lake and flooded Timbers...
Here is a video from my outing today
The tell tale quit peeing but the exhaust housing was lukewarm
And the exhaust relief holes still vented water
Could this be a sign of an open thermostat?
In the video, I had it above idle, in the “start” parameter on the throttle.
I took it out hunting this morning, telltale was still a bit weak and then once it warmed up and topped out, tell tale had drips coming out
Ran for 20 minutes on the lake with no overheating issues though
Previously...
My 1979 has water coming out of the exhaust relief holes at idle. I just replaced water jacket, thermostat, power head manifold(where the spark plugs thread into), and water pump.
I have attached a video
Is it normal for that much water to exit in idle?
