Thanks Alumarine. That looks like the correct parts list. It doesn't show any grommet or bushing to fill that small void at the pivot pin, so I guess it's fine as is.
Hello,
I have a 1967 Mercruiser 120HP with sterndrive serial number 2070992. I just replaced the bellows and am wondering if their are supposed to be tilt rod bushings (or grommets) that go between the tilt rod and the pivot pin. there were none in there when i disassembled it, but there is...
I was just going to let water flow through. Like filling a cup.
If I were to remove things, what things would you suggest I remove to start checking water passages?
That was my though process as well.
I'm going to pull the lower unit and backflush through the thermostat housing. I won't have a chance to work on it again until next weekend. I'll post an update then.
Yup. Pulled the thermostat covers, sending unit, and the water blow-off valve cover and ran the motor. No water came out of any of the openings.
So it sounds like I might have to pull the foot and stick a hose into the thermostat housing opening to backflush.
@saltchuckmatt and @oldboat1 ,
Thanks for the quick replies.
I haven't put the boat in the water since I got it, and never ran it long enough to overheat. Once I noticed there was no water I shut it down.

Just got a new-to-me 1993 Evinrude ocean Pro 200 TXT. There was no water at the telltale so I replaced the water pump. Now I am getting water peeing strong at the telltale, and some water out the prop, but when I pull the thermostat covers, water blow-off valve cover, and sending unit no...
I've been working on a fiberglass hull 16' 1967 Starcraft Newport and want to replace the bow eye. The original eye has such a small eye hole that the hook from the trailer winch cannot completely enter the eye (see photo).
I've searched pretty thoroughly online and have not been...
Thanks for the tips GA_Boater . The metal tabs in the corners did hold the switch halves together. I opened it up (inside a baggie) and the contacts were filthy. You can see in the picture the contacts on the right are as I found them. The contacts on the left were after cleaning. I've got...
Hi All, I started a thread last year regarding this boat but haven't really done anything with it until now. She's a 1967 Starcraft Newport 16' Fiberglass runabout with an inboard/outboard (GM 120hp I4 and a mercruiser outdrive). As near as I can tell, the boat sat for about 9 years before I got...
Here are some photos for you guys. Let me know what you think. And for g0nef1sshn, evidence that it happened :laugh: .
You will see in one or two of the pictures the support system the previous owner built for the cover. I'm sure it did a great job of holding out the Minnesota snow. It is well...
