when shifting by hand it works, but when using the cable the cable bends.
Also FYI when I was using the older lower unit I didn't have shift problems with this cable until I swaped for this unit, it seems like its a bit hard to shift.
Edit: I noticed when off the power It doesn't actually engage I tried the adjustment based on the information from the book and I think the shift cable is bad because it bends when shifting. is this a correct assessment?
A little bit of a backstory, I have been having issues with lower unit with my Force 125 the motor is pretty good but the lower unit had issues going into forward. upon taking apart the lower unit I found the following problems:

Because I had an issue with the forward gear and my oil was cloudy. And I was told it had to do with bad seals, so someone told me to change seals which I am working on doing, however I also noticed that there was metal flakes in the oil but the gears look fine, the clutch dog looks like it has...
Like the title says I have an issue with forward gear not working, I was told to replace the seal kit on gear carrier. Now I cant seem to.find the right tool to pull it. Any help please?
One of the boats has the serial number scratched off :/ but these are the pics i got. Is it too terrible to change seals and forward gear? Im mechanically inclined and i dont mind buying tools as i flip boats and cars.
I have a Force 125. It was working fine and performing really good. Family member took it out and it stopped going forward when he we out on the water. Now he didnt go full send because he had kids on board i think it just randomly quit.

I need to know if there is a substitute for this control box its so fussy and screw holes are stripped and its annoying to install with all the upholstery having to go around it.
Hi, anyone know how i can fix this grinding noise coming from control box ? engine is a force 125 no noise from engine, when i shift fast enough boat runs great and smooth.
is there any substiture box that i can use instead ?
