Lower Shift Cable Housing Damaged

Installing a new lower shift cable in my MC-1 and the new core wire wont go inside the cable. It goes in about 8 inches and stops solid. And I mean solid. No chance it will work. I've emailed Quicksilver to see if they will replace it. I can only find kits for sale and I only need a new cable. So hopefully Quicksilver will come through. (The core wire was stiff to remove too.)

Anyone run into this?

guessing you damaged the casing by twisting it somehow, need to have it as straight as possible or have a helper turn it in the opposite direction at the same time and you screw it in

I always have the core wire in the jacket when screwing the cable jacket into the bell housing.
