Hello. I have one of these 7.4L MPI MIE (L29) GEN. VI GM 454 V-8 1998-2000 0L002006 . My issue is my alternator is not charging. I have no voltage in the purple wire that excites the regulator. Does this sound familiar and any hints as to where to look? I don't have a wiring diagram of this model. I assume it would feed from the ign circuit and it runs fine? Is there a diode or some junction I should be looking at in the harness? Does it feed from the ECM? Just looking for pointers from those that work on these all the time.
Thanks

The purple wire comes from the key switch, there is no diode

You could run another wire from the + side of the coil over to it
