I am the original owner of a 1998 Alumacraft 175 CS Tournament Pro with only 97 hours on it.
I keep this boat inside my warehouse when not in use, so weather is not a cause.

I have replaced the rear livewell water intake valve twice already because it cracks at the fitting on the intake side where the hose connects to the valve, which allows water to leak into the bilge. Well, it has cracked again in the same location as the first two valves. All replacement valves have been Alumacraft parts.

Additionally, I have replaced the forward valve for the front livewell for the same reason.

Due to limited access to the aft bilge area, I will now have to remove the livewell, which is rivited into the boat, in order to get better access to the plumbing. Hopefully I can figure out a better way to connect a valve that won't crack.

Is there a better system that Alumacraft has developed other than the plastic valves that keep failing?
Has anyone experienced the same issue with livewell valves?
I have the same boat. Did you find a resource for better livewell valves? I am having the same issue with the front livewell. The drain valve is leaking and needs to be replaced. At least I think it's leaking. In order to be sure do I have to remove the livewell to access the valve? I can follow the drain control cable down and it disappears between the live well tank and the battery compartment.

Moved your thread to its own. please do not post in old threads.

livewell valves are just plastic valves. they last about 15 years prior to needing to be replaced. to replumb most livewell systems, you must basically un-assemble the boat, removing all the platforms, etc., and in some cases removing the deck. then repair the plumbing, and re-assemble
