time to take out the VOM and check things out... when did this start happening ?? recently or is this a new to you engine ???



normally the switch A post has B+ at key on position

Last trip out put gas and oil in there tanks and went to lake with grandkids board started and ran for about 10 minutes died and no restart unless I hold the key in crank position

typically the switch A post should have B+ at KEY ON does yours ?

hold the key on START only gets the starter to turn the FW

if your key ON has + on A post make certain that B+ reaches the engine... follow/inspect wiring test for B+ engine side !! (usually on a purple wire)

if you have a side fat connector check pins for oxydation

By chance doesboat have auto gas and oil mixing with stop circuit if low on oil ? How about Man Overboard Switch ?
Either wired differently by someone ?

The wiring diagram for a 60 degree looper is different.-----The 99 model has OPTICAL ignition.-----Check the POWER COIL wires coming from stator.
