Greetings
Issue:
When i'm required toggle between forward and reverse at slow speeds, the boat engine will stall and i need to restart engine to gain control. This happens primarily when i'm docking or pulling out from dock.

On the weekend i took her out and while on the lake away from everyone i did toggle back and forth and i notice the rpms really went down when going through the neutral "zone" of the controller. it didn't always stall but depending on how slow i was toggling then engine would stall. Boat runs well while just going forward and I can't hear or notice any issues. The Controller is a little stiff but not out or ordinary.

Are there specific areas i should concentrate on to fix this issue
Thanks

First check your shift interrupter switch and the shift plate assembly. Make sure it is engaging the interrupter switch, then disengaging the switch when you shift. This switch is what momentarily stalls your engine so the clutch in your lower unit can shift.

A second thing to check is your lower shift cable. Take it off the shift plate stud and pull it in and out to see if it moves smoothly and relatively effortlessly.
