Thanks in advance,

I have a question regarding MEFI 3/4 ECUs, I'm trying to sort out for sure what the real engine/drivetrain hours on a 2006 Nautique I bought are... The hours if I'm not mistaken on the buggy Faria Gateway gauge is 1127.7 Hours and for the hell of it I scanned the engine computer and it shows to have a total of 35.5 total run time... I did buy it from the original owner in Alabama and it was fairly clean aside from needing upholstery which was all done. I also checked out the sticker on the oil pan and it is indeed the original engine with a build date of 02/23/06.

I have it listed for sale and do not want to deceive anyone or list it with much higher hours than what the drivetrain truly does have. It's a significant difference between the two obviously. Is there anyway of checking other modules on the boat for the engine run time or anyway to check if the ECU has been repaired/replaced/reset?

UPDATE

I did find out that the Perfect Pass allegedly stores engine run time in it as well however if there is any advice please let me know!

MEFI's are easy to reprogram and in doing so it wipes out everything.

Got it, online it was saying it's impossible to reset the hours on it so that's why I was confused. I'll have to check the hours on the Perfect Pass then and if that doesn't work maybe the dealer it was serviced at can let me know what went on with it.

Online is just like this forum, you can find folks spouting off things they know nothing about. I could be lying to you, just take it all in and get enough to bring up a consensus.

I own a copy of MefiBurn and have changed programing.
Suggest go to Offshore only and find member ArticFriends, he has been doing programing for many years, and does a great job at clean and flow testing marine injectors

Got it, sounds good. It was Google's AI that spewed that consensus about the hours not being able to be erased or changed. I was able to finally get service records for this boat from Singleton Marine and it looks like they swapped out the ECU and had it approved by PCM.
