need help with year of this merc

hi , i have a mercury 7.5 hp , serial no. 7140366 , havnt been able to find out what year it is.
please help . also it has NGK BR9HS-10 plugs in it , tried to buy some and there discontinued . but i did get NGK BR9HS , what gap would these need to be set to . the old plugs where .040
