Rusty engine pulleys

What are people doing when they come across a rusty engine pulley that is likely sanding down the serpentine belt. The PS pulley and circulation pump pulley seem to be the real rust ones on my engine.

Wire brush, bead blast, or soak in oxalic acid

Due to significance of the rust (and accompanying belt dust!) of, at the time new to me boat, I changed out all the pulleys which included a new alternator which I was on the cusp of changing out anyway. For the circulating pump bell pulley, I did grit blast and paint it as it was no where near as bad as the grooved pulleys.

Leaking engine front water pump seal leak ? Or some hose connection . Some spray may find the distributor cap insides.
