That is a nice and clean motor. Looks like you take good care of it. However, the video sure sounds awful. I agree that something wrong and glad you are pursuing it.

Can you provide more background and info about motor? Is new to you? Routine maintenance done? Etc. Also any issue you had in the recent past, like an overheat or loss of oil pressure?

Please provide as much info as possible and the good folks here will be able to help figure this out. In the meantime I do not recommend taking this boat out.

I bought a used Mercruiser 3.0 and harmonic balancer was broken and I have just replaced it with brand new 55045T and also moved the alternate from mercruiser 2.5. Attached file is the running the belt. it seems it runing good without belt. could you compared my first and second video and help me identify where the noise us from?

First video…. Have you checked timing? seems like a rough idle.
second video…..you got it throttled up. doesnt seem to be missing. Not sure how to compare these two videos.

Agree hard to compare. Also do not run it long without the belt but that is a good troubleshooting technique. With the belt off grab each pulley and spin it by hand and also try to rock it back and forth (using two hands, put one on each side of the pulley and push with one hand while pulling with the other). If any of the pulleys turn with a rough noise or feel or have play when you try to rock it, that is a problem.
