Took a boat on trade and know nothing about it except it has a Force 125 motor, model 1251X4. After reading some things about Force motors I read where you don't remove a screw down where the oil drain is as you'll mess something up. There's only one allen head screw down where the drain is. also there is no screw where the oil fill is.There's a hole for the fill, but no flathead screw. The vent has a screw and gasket. I didn't take the allen head screw out as I was just looking the motor over. It has power tilt and trim, but can be lifted by hand, I see where the lock is and thinking that where the removable cap is, is for the fill. Is this correct? what oil?
The motor looks good under the hood, no mouse activity or rust. Going to hook a battery to it this afternoon and see what happens. One other thing right now. The controls has a single handle that doesn't move, I think the motor is in neutral as the prop free spins. should the one lever move to shift and accelerate, or is there something else. Thanks.

Your engine is a 1984 year model.
The allen screw is the drain screw and the went/level screw at the starboard side just above the cavitation plate (flat screw).
The "no no screw" whitch is the swiwel for the fork that change the gear is at the starboard side at the gear case bullet.
Unhook the remote cables at the engine at try to move the remote handle forward and back to see if it is seized or not.
There is a cold start function at the remote control where you can just increase the throttle without go into gear.
Depending on whitch remote control you have you activate the cold start in different ways.
Chrysler remote you pull the knob at the control and move the handle, US Marine control you push a buttom at the center of the handle or there is a latch at the handle that you push up.
For the T&T you shall use SAE 10W/30 engine oil, no transmisson or hydraulic oil.

Post pics of the lower unit, the drain and the side where the fill/vent screws are and the shifter you have.
With those pics we can elaborate more and explain better the steps you need. The first 5 posts in this section have a lot of info pertaining to the Force outboards: look through them.

thanks guys, I overlooked many things on my walkthrough. There is a button, or lever under the throttle control handle that allows you to move the throttle and forward and reverse lever, and it does work, at least things are moving under the hood.
I spent yesterday chasing wires from the battery to the fuse block. There is 12v at the block, but nothing coming out. All the fuses are good but nothing happens, I couldn't even find 12v on the start switch using a meter.
