1959 Johnson 35hp Super Seahorse - Crankshaft Roller Bearing

I'm reassembling my '59 Johnson Super Seahorse and ran into a problem with the roller bearing that goes onto the crankshaft. Right now, the bearing is sitting between the two half-circles that stick up from the block. When I install the cam and mag plate on top, it sits too high to bolt down and obstructs the crankshaft key.
I'm not sure how the roller bearing fits onto the crankshaft. Any help would be appreciated.

The roller bearing fits / locates on a dowel in the block.----Sounds like you have to take it apart again.

The roller bearing should press onto the crankshaft first, then sit between the half-circle supports in the block. If it's sitting loose in the block before installing the crankshaft, it's in the wrong spot. Make sure the bearing is fully seated on the crank sometimes a light tap with a soft mallet helps. If the mag plate still won’t sit flush, double-check that the bearing isn’t upside down or binding.
