Thrust Washer Question - Yamaha Performance 3 Prop

Hi, I recently bought a used Yamaha SS performance 3 propeller (MAR-GYT3B-V4-16) and am trying to figure out if I have an issue with fit or not. The thrust washer that i have for it has a slight amount of play in it - maybe 1/16 of an inch- when it mates to the propeller hub. Its enough that it can be installed slightly off center and there is a noticeable wobble when spun by hand. Of course I can just tighten it when it is on straight and it spins perfect but I feel like the thrust washer should fit snug into the propeller, forcing it to be centered. The same thrust washer fits great into a talon SDS propeller.

So, do I need a different thrust washer or is this normal with a pressed rubber hub Yamaha prop? The propeller itself does not appear worn out or damaged. Anyone else notice their thrust washer fits loosely into their SS yamaha prop?

Thanks

wrong as in the wrong part or something is defective? I was not able to find anything that suggests the performance 3 series uses a non traditional thrust washer.

Shouldn't be any play in the prop to prop shaft interface, and the thrust washer has to fit snugly in the rear of the prop and the ID is sloped to marry to the slope in the prop shaft to ensure exact alignment.
I bought a used prop from a long time in business marine dealer. Upon attempting to install it, it was obvious I had the wrong thrust washer. He had a wall full of used props and a box full of thrust washers. I took the box out to the boat and sorted through them till I found the perfect fit. Might give something like that a try.

Here’s a video showing the amount of play between washer and prop. If not normal I guess I’ll return the prop as defective since I was told this is the correct washer by a shop.

That is not normal. The thrust washer should fit snugly onto the prop hub to ensure perfect centering.

Your Yamaha SS prop requires its specific Yamaha thrust washer (6C1-45674-00-00). The fit is precise. A loose washer from another brand, like your Talon, will not work correctly and can cause vibration and damage.

Get the correct Yamaha OEM thrust washer for that specific prop model.

The Talon is a Yamaha brand propeller, just the talon series. The washer being used is also a Yamaha washer (part number in post above). I tried to locate the part number you provided but it does not appear to be valid?
