I have a 1989 Force 125hp outboard. It's been running great for years. Boat has always been stored under cover. This is not something that's obvious. Given the age of the motor, the foam inside the engine cowling started falling off, turning to dust while the engine was running. Without an air filter on the carbs, the foam dust was ingested into the engine. The dust then robbed the engine of lubrication and caused the engine to seize. I wound up replacing the power head and relined the cowling with foil lined insulation. Just want to alert fellow boaters with these 30+ year old motors of this issue. Thanks.
