About time. I supported him for longer than I should have because he is a great guy. He cares about his players. He stressed winning with honor. Great guy. Not so great coach. He didn’t develop talent. His game management and clock management were horrible. He couldn’t adjust a game plan on the fly and he couldn’t make a game plan that highlighted HIS players strengths. Look at the UCLA game. Iamaleava was killing PSU and it took till partway through the 4th quarter to put a spy on him. His reason … the guy we usually use for that was hurt. Really? Very True, he came in and dealt with the whole Sandusky fiasco when OBrian checked out,and managed to put together a solid winning program. I’m sure that was no picnic, and he deserves a lot of credit for that. You can’t deny he does have a winning record. He managed to bring some good talent here and hold them here for the most part till lately. I blame the decision makers about the huge buy out. They knew when they signed his contract that he struggles when it counts the most. Thats been apparent for a long time. Was a bad signing and everybody knew it. I do believe he cared deeply for the kids and from what little exposure there is I believe the kids liked him as well. But yes it was past time for him to go.
I saw one commentator point out that UCLA had Gerry Neuheisel hiding in plain sight. Now he's been elevated to the OC and they're going up and down the field.Another horrendous loss for PSU, lost the game and the QB. Meanwhile Pribula is not playing bad for Missouri.
Is UCLA For real. They mopped the floor with Michigan state. The new regime put in place seems to be working. Maybe PSU should consider the same approach
No matter what, they should ride with Neuheisel for the rest of this season. See if he can keep dialing up a wining game plan.
I highly doubt he would just walk away from the money because the team lost some games. Team is still in first in NFC east. Unofficial word is it’s something personal. He’s been at it for 11 years, could be he’s physically exhausted along with something going on in his life he needed to walk away.
Please take him … and pay him sacks of cash! Every dollar he gets from another employer is a dollar less that PSU pays in buy-out.
