Hi,
I have a 1994 OMC Cobra Stern Drive model number 50FACPMDA. The tilt/trim hydraulic pump model number 985846 is likely faulty. Since it's no longer made, what can it be replaced with?
Thank you
Jeanric

If you get a mercruiser pump just make sure the fitting threads are the same.
If your pump does not operate electrically you may just have a worn out set of brushes. They are not hard to replace and no special tools are needed, just patience. These are the same pumps used on OMC outboards.

You can use the Volvo pump. Look for the part number using the "MD" as the model number which is the Volvo equivalent of your drive since you are in the joint venture years.

The newer Volvo pump may look different. It would have the reservoir at the bottom.

just google oildyne 108 hydraulic pump. you need 1200 psi on the lower and 2900 psi on the upper. I used a few of the DB electrical pump for testing at work and they appear to be nearly identical to the Parker Oildyne, however 1/4th the cost.
