I am a little younger than him and haven't hunted overseas, but had an offer to hunt a guys farm in South Africa. And I work full time ... the rest is pretty close. However, when I pull a trigger it is to fill the freezer, not the wall. Just a different perspective is all. I admire him and his patience to hold out for that "big one." I wish him the best of luck.
With that said, every deer, elk, turkey, squirrel, grouse, rabbit, woodcock, duck, or geese I have killed has been a trophy to me. I keep a log of every deer and elk killed and where. I rehearse each harvest over and over because they are all special and a gift. That is just me.
