Yep , me too , often the 1st things you notice.
No doubt. The guy is 73, has shot(I mean harvested) a ton of deer in his lifetime. He just likes being in the woods. So if he pulls the trigger it needs to be big. He has quite the trophy room. Alot of stuff from overseas.... He lives to hunt and fish. But hunting is his passion. He's not a rich man by any stretch of the imagination. Still works part-time....
I am a little younger than him and haven't hunted overseas, but had an offer to hunt a guys farm in South Africa. And I work full time ... the rest is pretty close. However, when I pull a trigger it is to fill the freezer, not the wall. Just a different perspective is all. I admire him and his patience to hold out for that "big one." I wish him the best of luck.
Absolutely! Everyone has different reasons for hunting. I completely get putting food on the table. I also understand that priorities can change and people just like the hunt and if they shoot something, great, if not that's fine too. I think as a person gets older priorities can change, but not always. I was just explaining my friends reasoning.....
You’d be fined big time, loose your gun, your quad, and hunting privileges if you did that here.

Actually I have just watched a doco on TV where on of Daryls neibours has been running a feral game recovery business and he claims to be taking around 5000 feral deer annually , mostly thermal image shooting at night , also takes hares and is looking at doing pigs tooanywhere other than private land here would be the same .
While it may sound a bit loose we were actually doing a bit of pest control . The land borders on a huge forestry block and there are issues with pigs , goats, deer , rabbits hares and possums . its a legitimate job ..... or was .... been a while .
Ex brother in law did the same thing. I had an extra tag so we just tagged it. They both laid right on top of each other. He said he didn’t see the 2nd deer standing behind the other one till he walked up and there they were!
