adding a forward fishing deck

I am in the process of adding a fishing deck to my 16 foot jon boat...I cut the forward deck out of a 18 foot "skeeter"...figuring the fiberglas deck would be lighter than building a wooden one...any pointers or suggestions would be appreciated in attaching and building struts to support it for stability

Once you get it supported, my guess is the fiberglass would be heavier than the wood, and the wood will look better, and fit your needs better.

Take your job boat out first, use c-clamps to hold a bit of plywood in place and try to stand on it. Most front casting deck conversions are too unstable to actually use
