At least One Cylinder is scored. What's with what looks like Grease on the Crankshaft Bearings?

that motor is a disaster. One piston has had something flying around in it. It probably threw a crank bearing and they rebuilt the crank and never touched the beat to crap piston.

does it effect flow any appreciable amount to get rid of the plunge milled "lip" on each intake port (top and bottom)? was thinking it might my my next rebuild
