2 things to report: The lithium starting battery I have used for the last 2 seasons has been perfect. My outboard is a 1980 35 HP tiller Johnson that only has the electric starter. Not the rectifier or stator so no charging available. I have run my fish finder and started off same 20 ah battery. Its been great.

I also had the motor mounts replaced on my outboard, and i have seen a 1.2 mph top speed improvement. I did not expect this. Motor looks more stable when I'm hauling it down the road too.

Yes but did you put the sheet ice racing blade on it yet? Lol....

Thanks for the report. New style batteries have come along way.

I've had the same experience with my lithium starting battery*. It lasts days without needing to charge. Provides a steady current no matter if it's at 80% or 40%. Just flat. And I removed/disconnected the stator and rectifier so will never need to replace those parts. The only downside so far I have found with lithium is that some of the old electreonics cant handle it, like for example my massive 24 pound trolling motor that is almost 40 years old will blow a fuse if you run it on the highest speed for too long.

*Note: these are special "starter" LiFePO4 batteries, not just any lithium battery.
