I can tell you one thing, if the deck was slippery for any reason, I would not be standing on it !
You wouldn't make a very good Striper fisherman or Duck/Goose hunter.

Prime fishing in our area is Thanksgiving through New Years. Then C&R Trophy Hunting through the end of April.

Cold hands and feet, maneuvering frozen decks doing the "Chesapeake Waltz" and clearing icicles from rods tips are all part of the experience...lol

My best bass fishing was usually Thanksgiving weekend. Could always limit and not burn a ton of fuel to get on the bite.

Our fishing season goes until end of November, no risk of ice that I know of. No geese for me, not a wild fowel person. Guess it looks like I am a fair weather boater ! In my younger days, I was always the first boat on the Portage river, often in early March dogging chunks of ice. Today that seems lots of folks do that, but no longer do I....

The older I get the less I tolerate the cold.

Me too.. but I have this fetish for catching trophy “Rockfish”

I can either pull the boat 8-9 hours each way or wait until they come to me in November and drive 45 minutes.

A Midwest refinery shut down a couple weeks ago. Is back on now. Gas dropped $.50 here today. Currently $3.99.

Gas cant be $2 if they are taxing it $.60 a gallon.

Just priced gas in Ontario.
$5.85 US, per us gallon, $1.03 of which is tax.

I need 64 gallons for my vacation to Upsala On. But if I plan it right I will only need to buy 10 -12 gallons in Canada.

Most of the high gas prices is just greed. Oil is priced based on the global market. Oil is much cheaper in the US than globaly, but the processers want the big bucks everyone else is getting. While I hate these current prices, compare that to the fancy coffees people buy each morning on their way to work, or the cost of a couple mixed drinks at a restaurant.....
