    That is how I have it of course. The cable only pulls one direction which is opposite my steering wheel currently. I have to face the rack the opposite direction I currently have it, just wasnt as much radius bend/space as previous steering rack because it was shorter than the replacement rack.

    Using a puller would have pulled the thin fiberglass helm apart. Didn't want to take that risk. Ill remove the grease from the shaft but keeping some in the woodruff key hole. That is what I am mostly concerned about, corroding and freezing up.
