1994 Mariner 60 Hp and Faria Tach Failing after 3/4 throttle

Thx I"m a little slow both in testing, understanding, and posting (winter came along). Looks like your assumption is right. I've come to realize that my voltage at a constant 18 volts isn't right.

Took boat to "marine mechanic" and now it's not drivable

Guy #1 don't think he knew how. Guy #2 Probably knew how as he actually got the carbs adjusted better (no hesitation between low and high jets that use to be there). But he can haul a Houseboat out of water, do a lower unit check and make $2400 in the same amount of time that he did mine.

Took boat to "marine mechanic" and now it's not drivable

Well yes it's possible they were taken out and put back in but they are over 10 years old and sat for 10 years with bad gas. They are a ticking time bomb. Which is why I requested they be rebuilt. Took it to a different mechanic with carb and fuel pump rebuild kits in hand. And said rebuild...

    Cracked Clear Oil/Fuel Hose

Yes battery needs to be charged. Most recommend grounding the sparkplug. I normally pull the kill switch. So if the battery is fully charged and still not moving the needle in all cylinders then I would make sure you have it correctly connected (as in no leaks in hose and all sealed up)...

    Cracked Clear Oil/Fuel Hose

Well if it was completely off as in not delivering oil into the gas damage could be severe depending on how long you ran it that way. Would be good idea to do a compression check.

Took boat to "marine mechanic" and now it's not drivable

Thanks! That's a direction. And since I requested the pump be rebuilt then I'll try the fuel pump rebuild. I guess it's possible that just unlucky the pump completely tanked after visiting the mechanic.

Took boat to "marine mechanic" and now it's not drivable

So my 94 Mariner 60hp was at least drivable before. Occasionally it would act up while driving but usually I could give it full gas and clear up. But it always started and idled reliably. took it to a "marine mechanic" to rebuild carbs and fuel pump and check spark plug wires. He says he...

2 Stroke Outboard Engine troubles low speed burp/thump.

Scratch that finally got an appointment in a week and half. Woot woot, going to replace fuel pump, clean rebuild carbs, replace fuel and oil lines, check and clean fuel intake. Anything else one should have them do?

2 Stroke Outboard Engine troubles low speed burp/thump.

Everyone tells me to call them back in 3 weeks I know they will then be swamped with winterization. So I guess I'll have to do myself. Can someone point me to best carb rebuild kits and where to get them? And what size tubing is needed for fuel and oil lines?

2 Stroke Outboard Engine troubles low speed burp/thump.

Thankyou for the input floating stuff in fuel system makes sense. After 10 year hibernation I put some straight 2 stroke oil in pistons let sit. Emptied fuel tank, put some fresh fuel in it, emptied again turning it upside down and shaking all the crud out that I could. Bought a fresh...

2 Stroke Outboard Engine troubles low speed burp/thump.

Noticed a little water in bottom of engine under cowl, both occurrences have happened after running through some rough water. Any chance moisture affecting electronics. Doesn't' seem like issues since when I go into full throttle issues clears up but if I go back down to mid throttle the issue...

2 Stroke Outboard Engine troubles low speed burp/thump.

OK short-livedOn the way back rough waves Mid throttle it would seem to lose power but if I went full throttle it would recover

2 Stroke Outboard Engine troubles low speed burp/thump.

120, 118, 120 Throttel open, safety kill off, One spark plug out at a time. Put the 10 ur old BU8h spark plugs back in And it’s back to running the way it was Which is Farley even throttle response. We will see if temporary I suspect the 10-year-old fuel filter it’s truly the blame

    Missing?

Good luck finding a four stroke right now. Once had a similar die at idle and problem ended up being clogged fuel hose from tank.

25hp mercury tracker cranks but will not start

How did you test the spark? I would be looking at the kill switch. Is the saftey kill switch in place. I don't know how to overide the kill switch but that's what I would figure out how. Watch at your own risk. :) Possible mis-information from a cadet. It does talk about following the...

Can't argue with that. Ok compression test it is. Will do it this coming weekend.

25hp mercury tracker cranks but will not start

So have you tried just putting some gas in carb (pour a small amount, a small amount) to see if it will start even just a little that way. If so that would indicate no fuel flowing. If you get a start that way I would clean tank and intake line, if possible try a new tank and fuel line...
