First of all, thanks to all who have taken the time to help this newbie out!!
Well, I rebuilt my trim motor can (lots of corrosion, magnets had come loose). Everything seems to be okay, normal up and down. However, the 'power trim cylinder' in between the two smaller 'power tilt...

1989 Force 125 Lower Unit Problem

    Well, the saga continues.....
I ordered and and recieved a lower unit seal kit for a 1989 Force 125, Model "E". The kit is from QUICKSILVER and is numbered "FK1203-1". From the Force manual I have, it seems that there are two types of shift seals...a standard seal and a bellows. Mine has...

    Force Lower Unit Seals

Just got my seal kit in for a 1989 Force 125 (model "E"). The only seal that I know of that is leaking (via pressure test) is the shift shaft seal. Should I replace all seals, or hold them as spares as I have no indication of additional leakage? Thanks in advance!

Michael

    trim motor

Just dis-assembled my trim/tilt motor, and found SERIOUS rust/corrosion inside the case. Cleaned it all up, but the armature wouldn't fit. Seems as though one the magnets had been pushed inward toward the center of the case due to rust scaling, binding the motor...hence no operation. Am now...

    Lower Unit Speedo Pickup

Okay, here goes. I had to move my boat yesterday, and during the move, a board holding the motor up came loose. (the trim is currently INOP). Luckily, I had someone following me. He noticed it, and signalled for me to pull over. I got the boat pulled over before the motor made contact with...

    TeleFlex Steering Question

Working on a boat I just bought that has been sitting because of a "broken steering" cable. During the question and answer period with my father-in-law, (previous owner), he said that they were running just fine, then the steering cable broke. The thing is, they couldn't turn the steering...

    Force Newbie

Hello to all. I just bought a 1991 invader with what I believe to be a 1990(?) Force 125. The engine hasn't been run in around 2 years. I've heard (through the forum) that these motors, while they can be reliable, need a little "special care". What kind of care is everyone talking about that...
