    40 hp shift pivot screw

    I mistakenly removed the shift pivot screw instead of the crankcase level plug. The manual says that it cannot be reinstalled w/o a full tear down of the gear case. Anyone have any tricks to reinstall without a tear down? the engine is a 91.
