    Mercruiser 3.0 140 loosing umph as the day goes on????

    1986 Mercruiser 3.0 140 hp starts the day off in good shape, however as the day goes on it seems to loose RPM and power. Was wondering if it was a heating issue but does not seem to ever get above 160-170 and thought if it was loosing compression, but would that happen if it was getting hot...

    1986 Mercruiser 3.0 140 Serpentine V-Belt

    Belt broke last weekend, 19" V-belt. Can it be replaced with an automotive belt of similar build? I can purchase 2 for the price of 1 :marine" belt it looks like....After all, isn't it an old auto or industrial engine? Thanks in advance Dave

    Old vs new design fuel pump? Merc 140 Fuel pump compatibility?

    I am replacing a broken 1986 Merc 140 Alpha One with a working Merc 140. The old engine had the old design fuel pump. The replacement engine did not come with a fuel pump. I suspect that it may have had the new design fuel pump by the dirt and discoloration around where the gasket goes...
