    1972 18 FT Starcraft SS

We should get you moved over to the Starcraft boat section. Bunch of tinheads there to help you out who are very familiar with these boats. Overall she is in great shape! The strake being the worst, does the hole go all the way through the hull?? Either way its patchable. The strakes are...

1969 Super Sport 16 Single Console Conversion

Nice work! It does look like an old fishing machine, with lots of years left to go. A previous owner (PO) definitely did some custom hack work to your boat but thats alright. The road sign is actually good aluminum for boat building, worth saving. When you replace the floors down the line...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Thanks guys! Admiral definitely wanted to be comfortable. Since I have a front casting deck the bow seats just sit on the hydroturf floor. One thing I didnt like about starcrafts original setup with the aisle was the skinny bow seats and smaller backrest. So I made mine console width, left a...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Took the family out on the lake today, my second mate’s first time on the water. She had a great time! Over the last week Ive been doing some work. Front bow hand rails, new front nav light (old one failed), cleaned up wiring, and finally finished the bow seating as Id always wanted it...

    1975 SS160 weight?

To answer your questions about your weight with trailer…. Just guessing here. Trailer - guess weight since I dont know how big yours is. Hull - 450 Floor - 100 Fuel - 50-100 Seats, steering wheel, etc - 50 Batteries - 100 Motor - 250 Trolling motor - 75 If your trailer is under 500 lbs you...

    1975 SS160 weight?

I was just running numbers for my new prop and I believe what you’re figuring is correct. Bare hull though should only be around 450lbs I think. But capacity is 900, so total with all gear, motor, people, everything - 1,500 lbs. Thats how the illegible plate reads at least.

1969 Super Sport 16 Single Console Conversion

No problem. These boats are not hard to work on and worth the trouble. Once you have them set up, they will last you many years! Mine is 44 years old and is like new now. I have a casting deck like yours but use mine as a fish/ski with the fam. Best part is they are easy to customize...

Post a pic of your starcraft!

@1978stabler You should start a rebuild thread in the starcraft forum! Good looking old boat.

1969 Super Sport 16 Single Console Conversion

Welcome Tom! Glad the boat is in relatively good condition. Replacing the floor and foam would be great first steps. If you have the tools and material ahead of time, doing that part of the project could go fairly quickly. Not having to remove the motor or do any paint work saves a ton of...

    1984 starcraft islander

Yea I couldnt tell from the pics if the boat had those chine tabs from the factory. As long as its closed cell foam, it shouldnt matter if you do pour in or sheets. Doubt the original foam was closed cell.

    1968 StarCraft Holiday restoration

My instincts say new hull, new boat, new thread. Hopefully the differences in the new one are positives over the last hull. Too bad they arent exact though.

    1984 starcraft islander

Start here for some project ideas. https://forums.iboats.com/threads/update-sticky.759973/ Lots of splashes to look at thanks to @Rasdiir I did see one islander in there but theres lots of similar boats, and all these boats are generally built in the same way. From what I remember here, not...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Thanks guys! Will definitely look at the trim tab. Didnt even think of that! She would go right into a circle if i went over, and keep circling unless I wore that kill switch lanyard. Usually never wear that but did yesterday. Two questions for you guys. Heres how the trim tab is set now...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

The highs… Got the boat filled up with the necessities for a trip to the lake. Topped off the gas tank. Double, triple checked everything. Only thing I forgot was my fishing license. A friend was kind enough to come with me to help break in the motor, on the condition we fish and have a few...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Highs and lows… First, the lows. Yesterday, while wiring my battery shutoff switch, I misinterpreted the little picture on the front of switch as “instructions”. A picture of a battery with a + and - . For some reason I thought it disconnected both the positive AND negative connections...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Knocked a few things out today. Added a spare tire carrier for the spare. Installed new longer safety chains for towing. Redid the winch post position, greased the winch, new strap, safety chain. Position still isnt perfect but works. Pics of the new RPM gauge and controls. Cut the...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Yes she is. Crazy how big the motor is compared to the last one. Really curious how she is going to handle it now, especially the transom. Will be watching that closely. Should hold up its “SuperSport” name haha. Absolutely adding a safety chain. When I switched winch posts, the new one...
