    Let's hope we don't have a resurrection of vacuum drive windshield wipers. I've never figured that one out. We had electric motors in those days.

    That's a good option. The boat I have already has the switch. It didn't have a second battery when I got it. I suppose the po just never got around to it. I picked up a group 27 at a yard sale for 5 bucks. It holds charge so maybe I got lucky. I'm a bit addicted to yard sales and sometimes do...

    Need your opinion about replacing the original Reed Valves in my 1986 Evinrude 30 hp.

    At one point in my life I had a HD fat boy. The carb was pig rich and it fouled plugs faster than you could swap them, I re-jetted all the circuits in the carb. Worked for me.

    The spline fitting is a tough one to get to. If you pull your drive often enough then spline grease is not a problem. Just grease the splines when you re-install the drive.

    HOA rules say, no boats visible from the street,....

    I will explain, I live on the river in a moderately priced home/cabin that is my retirement. LLC property management fat cats are buying the places and knocking them down and then build rental purposed dwellings . If I had an HOA i suspect this kind of activity would not exist.

    If you wish to replace the the bow eye find a piece of wood you can shape to fit inside the hull or maybe bend a piece of aluminumml to fit then imbed it in pb and glass over it.
