    Installing an inverter

Inverters usually have their own ATC or ATM fuses inside or on the outside. You can wire them direct to battery providing that is true, otherwise you need to fuse them identically to what they are fused for. FWIW I ran 10 gauge for a 400W inverter. 1200w is a lot of current. you better over...

Tying down a motorcycle for transport

Nice bike, and yeah I was thinking about doing that, but the trailer was rented. I strapped the cheap HF bike wheel chock in, but I should have gotten the better model. All in all, it worked out

Tying down a motorcycle for transport

Yup. It's a little small for me to own ( trailer ) but it worked well and towed well. It was an Ohio Steel trailer which I rented from the big orange store. I think they make them for HD only, as they have "HDR" in the model number and Ohio Steel lists them as Home Depot Rentals.

Tying down a motorcycle for transport

I ended up with a different, better bike. The guy with the Suzuki texted me when I was right near his house, that it needed a carb clean and wasn't running right. I didn't even bother looking after that point... I found this one farther away and picked it up today. 2012 V star 250 with 3,100...

Arrow Glass Manual for starter problems?

That's a 3.7L. I'm going to guess your a beginner boater and bought that boat unknowing about the engine. Run 12v jumper cable direct to the battery to the starter lug, then provide 12v to the S terminal on the GM starter solenoid.. If that does not spin it over, your going to have to bar the...

Have looked for weeks with no luck. Hummingbird 797 screw

the thread is going to be numbered most likely. Lowes, Home depot, your local Ace or whatever will have one that can fit. Should be stainless, but really a regular screw can work too

    1973 ISLANDER REFIT

Again, the decking you can use King Starboard but it's $$$, yet available in 4x8 sheets.. Trex decking or plastic dock planks do not belong in a boat. My dad did probably the cheapest fishermans refit he possibly could do to his 1966 Islander which he pulled out of a field. Painted the plywood...

Tying down a motorcycle for transport

Run of the mill garden trailer. tie downs on the outside. It's like $35 for me to rent for the day My truck is actually a '21 Ranger and it has the 6' bed. Problem is that it sits much taller than an old Ranger. I'd hate to wreck the truck and the bike if it came off the ramp.

Tying down a motorcycle for transport

Good friend of mine recently wanted me to buy a motorcycle to ride with her and take the test with, so I found one I could afford and I pick it up tomorrow ( '00 GZ250, I rode dirt bikes 10 years ago but not much else ) I have to rent a trailer as I don't have one, and Uhaul is closed to get a...

    Fueld sender charred up

years ago we lit my dads boat up quick doing that first start of the season ( on trailer )... I learned how a halon extinguisher worked. Not even a soot mark and it was out in ~10 seconds. sucks that it's production is banned, and thus very expensive

    Boat trailer to utility trailer?

The one I'm considering has a very short tongue. It's pretty old, not like the Venture trailer I bought for my SC Holiday that has a 6' tongue with the boat being 1'6" under the max length I even have a 2001 EZ Loader with a junk 19' boat sitting on it. I took the boat/ trailer for the trailer...

2 cycle oil for my garden tools

in general the run of the mill 2 stroke oil is designed for air cooled engines.. TCW3 is outboard oil and then there is also PWC oil which is different yet.. TCW3 should not be used in air cooled 2 strokes. I use it in my $100 weed wacker or $100 chainsaw if I have some mixed up and it's fine...

2 cycle oil for my garden tools

many online calculators for this.. Some of those oils are marked to be operated at a specific ratio, but it's all the same oil. Just use 3.2oz per gal in all of your equipment, it won't matter.. When I cut my sumac field down every other year, I operate my $95 chinese chainsaw at 25:1 to fog...

    Transom Reufircement

If the boat is rated for 150hp, you don't need to do anything as long as it's still solid. If the boat is not rated for 150hp, you really shouldn't put 150hp on it. A 19' may be rated for 150, it depends.. If your doing this because the transom flexes, then the boat needs to be structurally...

Lost Propulsion! Need Help! Reply ASAP!!

True, but in general their manufacturing tolorances are spot on. They also built most of the GM performance crate engines in the 90's and 2000's iirc. I know the ZZ502 was a Mercruiser build

    Boat trailer to utility trailer?

I can be frugal, and stubborn at times.. I need a trailer capable of hauling 1 pallet of shingles ( at a time ) and more frequently haul my 3,000 lbs Massey GC1710 TLB tractor.. The local HD sells the nice Karavan trailers but the price went up to the point, being cheap kicked in A local...

Lost Propulsion! Need Help! Reply ASAP!!

Mercruiser assembly, you might say is perfect. Lab coat kind of perfect.... GM had Mercruiser build the ZR1 C4 Corvette engine ( Lotus designed ) if it tells you anything.. The price reflects the build quality, and the question becomes, is that high of a quality necessary. With a 3.0L, rebuild...
