    will a 1977 mercruiser outdrive mate with a 1985 mercruiser 260

    it's a long story but i i ended up with a rebuilt mercruiser 260 and i need something to put it in. I found a 1977 tri-sonic that has a v8 mercruiser that is locked up. i was wondering if my motor will mate with that outdrive?? thanks for any info

    i have a 1972 IMP not sure of which model .. has a cuddy cabin, is a stern drive..i recently puchased it because it was failry cheap but has no engine ...i purchased a 1985 mercruiser that was supposed to be running perfect but ended up having a blown head gasket ..so i got to do my first head...
