Mercury 4cyl stumbles at hole shot and underway

If you bought a complete kit, the pump should have been in it. You may have to adjust the cam plunger for stroke. Setting should be on instructions in box. Of course I haven't bought a kit for years so they might not sell a complete one now.

    What size drag link socket

I have ground a screwdriver to fit. But didn't want to destroy more of them. I now use a 3/16" steel drift punch and hit the corner using ball-peen hammer to loosen. Replace as needed.

    1961 Merc 400

They don't need a battery to run, but it's easier to use the starter than the recoil rope ☺️. They use a magnito ignition system.

    Valve Adjustment, 2004 3.0

I have rebuilt a few Chevy small blocks. I only use the method you have done to set lash to zero + 1/4 turn. Final adjustment is made (Me) with engine running. I altered a valve cover by cutting a slot out at the adjustment nut area. With engine running loosen each nut until clack is heard (one...

    Adding a 3rd pontoon

I am wondering the same thing. I seen it stated here, that the front of the center toon should mount just ahead of the other toons. I have a 24 ft Harris Float Bote with 85hp Mercury mounted. Seems like there would be turbulence from the rear of center toon to deal with cavitation or...

Chris nailed it. I had the same problem. Replaced switch, didn't solve anything. Put a volt meter + on switch side of fuse, read 12.5 volts. Switch on run, read 11.8 volts. Switch to start position, read 2-3 volts. Wiggled fuse with small screw driver then it worked. Removed fuse, cleaned fuse...
