I think I will go electric for my next new car ...

Saw a plate on the front of a Tesla the other day - "Zero Emissions". I woulda laughed, but it wasn't funny.

I think I will go electric for my next new car ...

Can you imagine the electricity bill you'd get due to demand if there were a bunch (more) of these?

I think I will go electric for my next new car ...

Now that's funny. I wonder how efficient a generator is compared to a highly engineered full-size ICE.

I think I will go electric for my next new car ...

Or try to put the fire out after a crash. Even a few days later...

2.3l acts as if flywheel has missing teeth

Did you check the positive cable connection at the starter? I know you've had it off recently, but maybe forgot to clean that one? It got me once...

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II Dies at 96

She was a nice lady. Can we raise our flags now? Or should we just leave 'em down a while longer since Charles is king?

2.3l acts as if flywheel has missing teeth

One car we had when I was way younger had a spot or spots like that. I remember having to grab the fan belts and turn the engine a little to get past it. Try that, Lol. I'm kidding. I think that was a '73 Buick wagon with a 455 (that had surprisingly little power btw)

    Exhaust Bellow

What's wrong with it? That part goes down. I bought my boat (OMC Cobra) with a torn up exhaust bellows. PO asked his mechanic about replacing it, and the mechanic said Why? I replaced it the next season. Anecdotal. Idk if it matters more on Volvo Penta or not but I doubt it. U-joint...

    outdrive stored down

Lol. I rinse my oil change oopses and other occasional old car leaks out to the asphalt roadway, which has oil in it to begin with. Or that's how I plan to sell it at any rate, heh. Worst one included stepping right in the drain pan full of old oil. Kind of a long story, lol.

    outdrive stored down

Lol. I got to live the break out another thousand joke replacing the batwings during my 2nd season of ownership.

Need a New battery ,got more for less at Wallyworld....I think

You beat me to it. I thought I remembered something like that. I replaced mine in 2018 or '19, unnecessarily apparently (another story), and I'm having to charge the deep cycle replacement I got from A/Z every time before I hit the lake this year or it doesn't crank like it should if it's been...

Ram 5.7L hemi engine tick, misfire cyl 3

My neighbor had a Hemi Ram for a few years that ticked. He'd start it up, let it run for as long as it took him to move his hand from the key to the shifter, and go ticking off down the road every morning. Don't know the year. He's got a Ford diesel now and lets it warm up about the same...

    Hole shot, or up easy?

I like to do it quick (like push it to WOT reasonably quickly) and back off to 3k or so like others have said, once up, but last time out I started using part-throttle and it came up fine like that. I must be getting old too, heh. One time in a previous season, I think when I was letting one...

    Causes for concern?

Yeah. Mine (1986/88 OMC Cobra) was torn through when I bought it. Don't have one at all now, just a flapper. Replaced the driveshaft bellows the next season, and it was still holding. That issue makes an outboard look kinda good though.

    91 OMC 4.3 ESA Problems

RPM is too high. Are you actually working the microswitch to test it? Is the motor running well otherwise? It shouldn't die, especially from 800RPM unless something else is wrong. Lou C is the expert. Search with his name and you'll find all kinds of stuff.

That would be the exhaust bellows?... Other hole doesn't look good...

    Check your furnace filter

I've got 2 returns in the ceiling, and there's a filter at each. Obviously they didn't catch everything though. After all that, after running for several hours straight last night, the sound level through the returns increased noticeably, lol. So something's not exactly right now. I can't...

    Check your furnace filter

I got some unwanted time with my indoor unit today - like all day off and on, changing the blower motor and then cleaning at the indoor coil and unclogging the condensate drain - and I confirmed that there is no filter in the furnace itself. It's an upflow style, with a side return, right into...

    Anchoring question

Is there an unwritten rule that anchor rope should sink (in case you have to cut it loose) and ski/tow rope should float (to keep it out of the prop, etc.)? That's what I got from the boat PO, and it seems to make sense. He had the chain near the end too.

Nasty Cooling System - '93 Chevy Caprice

Most unfortunate! Well, maybe the heater core is an easier change than accessing the blend door. But I won't bet on it. The good news is that I got this car for less than $1,000 with a trans that was acting up. Turned out to be low fluid from a bad leak in the pan gasket (first thing I did...
